چکیده

Purpose Kawasaki Disease is the most common vasculitis of childhood, and carries considerable morbidity with risk of development of coronary artery aneurysms. Serological predictors of the development of coronary artery aneurysms have not yet been found. FSTL-1 is a proinflammatory protein which is produced by mesenchymal tissue, including cardiac myocytes, and has been found to be elevated in inflammatory disorders such as Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. The current study was designed to determine if plasma levels of FSTL-1 correlate with the development of Kawasaki Disease and development of coronary artery aneurysms.

اریتما مارژیناتوم علامتی ناشایع از اولین تظاهر بیماری کاوازاکی

Introduction: Kawasaki disease is an acute, systemic vacuity that predominantly manifests in infants and young children. Severe systemic inflammation and vacuities can cause cardiovascular involvement, particularly coronary artery injury that includes dilatation or aneurysm. The final goal of treatment for acute Kawasaki disease، therefore، is to diminish systemic inflammation and vacuities a...

Follistatin-like protein 1 modulates IL-17 signaling via IL-17RC regulation in stromal cells

Follistatin-like protein 1 (FSTL-1) possesses several newly identified roles in mammalian biology, including interleukin (IL)-17-driven inflammation, though the mechanism underlying FSTL-1 influence on IL-17-mediated cytokine production is unknown. Using parallel in vitro bone marrow stromal cell models of FSTL-1 suppression, we employed unbiased microarray analysis to identify FSTL-1-regulated...

Giant LV Thrombose and Thrombosed Coronary Aneurysm in an Infant with Kawasaki Disease

Background Kawasaki disease (KD) also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome is the febrile and self-limited vasculitis that occurs in children of all ages, especially younger than five years of age. Here, we describe a case of Kawasaki disease with coronary artery aneurysm and a big clot in LV with a diameter of 1.5 cm. <stron...

Follistatin-like protein-1 is a novel proinflammatory molecule.

While analyzing gene expression in collagen-induced arthritis, we discovered that a poorly characterized gene, follistatin-like protein 1 (FSTL-1), is highly overexpressed in mouse paws during early arthritis, especially at the interface of synovial pannus and eroding bone. In this study, we show that FSTL-1 is a novel proinflammatory molecule with a previously unrecognized role in inflammation...

The impact of omega-3 supplementation on indices of body composition, lipoprotein and Follistatin-Like 1 circulating level in men with coronary heart disease: A randomized double-blind placebo controlled clinical trial

Background and purpose: Follistatin is a cytokine secreted from the Myocardium, which play a protective role against cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of omega-3 fatty acids as secondary preventive of cardiovascular disease on indices of body composition, lipoprotein and follistatin-like1protein (FSTL1) circulating level in patients with coronary arter...
